The 2008
Fosters Belmar Pro presented by Global Surf Industries will feature
many of the premier professional surfers on the East Coast. Events
will be held in Pro Shortboard, Pro Longboard, Pro Womens and
new for 2008 Pro Bodyboard and Stand Up Paddle.
For 2008, SRH will be doing demonstrations with the Grinch, an
incredible tow system which launches surfers resulting in incredible
airs. The music area and tent city will also be in place with
the latest gear for sale. There will be live music on both Saturday
and Sunday by Barry & the Penetrators, Scott Kirby, Predator
Dub Assassins and Re-Form. Global Surf Industries will be doing
surfboard demos and clinics throughout the event. In addition,
they are bringing several of the most prominent shapers in the
world today: Bob McTavish, Steve Wlden and Greg Webber who will
be on hand to discuss surfboard design.
Scheduled to compete for 2008 is Bonga Perkins (World Longboard
Champ), Dave Kalama and Corey Lopez!
Past competitors of the Belmar Pro include: Brian Toth, Dean Randazzo,
Kyle Garson, Jeremy Johnston, Mikey DeTemple, Tony Silvagni, Ryan
McGrath, Aaron Cormican, Sam Hammer, Bryan Hewitson, Jon Jon Florence,
Shawn Cansdell, Tim Reyes, Asher Nolan and a host of others ....
